This is a Review of the Acer Iconia Tab A501-10S16u 10.1-Inch HD Tablet

If you want to buy a Acer Iconia Tab A501-10S16u 10.1-Inch HD Tablet, please take a few minutes and read our free review before you make your purchase. Make sure that what you're buying worth the price and gives to you the best for your investment.

The good: The Acer Iconia Tab A501 4G (AT&T) is currently considered as one of the tablets 4g with the Android operating system (Honeycomb) cheaper in the market. It features the Android 3.0 operating system NVIDIA Tegra 250 1 GHz, 16 GB, 1 GB - DDR2 SDRAM with a multitouch screen 10.1 "TFT - 1280 x 800. Also, it includes a full Micro-USB port and HDMI. Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Rechargeable Li-Polymer Battery (3260 mAh), Up to 8-hours Battery Life, Acer Clear.fi, Acer Sync, weight 1.712 lbs.

It comes with WiFi 802.11b/g/n. Flip it over and you’ll find a 5 Megapixel rear camera with a integrated LED flash, 2 Megapixel front facing camera.

This tablet is a revolutionary new addition to your mobile arsenal , with built-in 4G technology, enjoy the convenience to jump online from just about anywhere in the - at airports, coffee shops, commuter trains and more!

The bad: The tablet ships with Android 3.0.1, limiting its video compatibility, features, and performance. The A501's screen has a narrow viewing angle, and it fails to earn its hefty weight.

The bottom line: The Acer Iconia Tab A501 4G (AT&T) is the A500 with HSPA+ connectivity at a very competitive price compared with other 4G tablets; however, its adherence to Android 3.0 limits its appeal, but in our opinion this is for the moment. The tendency of the Android operating system is a fact and we are in it and with very good results.

Please take into consideration that it is important to make your purchase from a trusted and established company; there are many scammers willing to take your money and not send the product. We recommend buying at amazon.com.

I didn't know Acer had a tablet out. I'd be interested in seeing how it compares with the Nook Tablet if you'd care to update with more specifics, a side by side list would be great. The front and rear facing cameras definitely give this one an advantage over the Nook, wonder how it compares in size, operating system, etc. Or were you comparing it more to an Ipad?

For the price though, especially if adding the bluetooth keyboard I'd recommend just getting the Acer Aspire One 722 11" netbook. You'd save a couple hundred bucks and get more features and better operating system, everything but the cool touchscreen.
